Kelly Porch - Psychotherapist (Counsellor), Trainee Solution-Focussed Hypnotherapist and Clinical Supervisor

My name is Kelly Porch and I would love to work with you to help you with whatever it is that is troubling you right now.

I have been a qualified psychotherapist/counsellor for 10 years, a trainee solution-focussed hypnotherapist and a clinical supervisor with a lot of experience working with individuals. Unlike some agencies and organisations, psychotherapy with me is not time-limited or restricted to a specific number of sessions - you can have as many as you want or need.

I also offer daytime and evening appointments (subject to availability).

Should you wish to attend in person, my practice is in Kettering, Northamptonshire (NN15) where I practice from a private garden room that is fully air-conditioned/heated to provide a comfortable space for us to meet.

The location is easily accessible from all of the surrounding areas to Kettering, such as Wellingborough, Corby, Mawsley, Thrapston, Northampton and Market Harborough, as I am located very close to Junction 8 of the A14 and walking distance from Kettering Railway Station. Plenty of parking is available.

I provide two types of therapeutic intervention:

  • Person-centred counselling which is a popular form of counselling in the UK. This type of counselling puts you in control - I won't tell you what we should talk about or assume I know more about you than you know about yourself (you just might not know that yet!). We will work together to help you to identify what you would like to change and how you might be able to do that.
  • Solution-focussed hypnotherapy which focuses on helping individuals identify and achieve their desired goals or outcomes, rather than delving deeply into the underlying causes of their issues. This therapeutic approach combines elements of traditional hypnotherapy with principles from solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), a psychological counselling method.

I work with adult individuals (not couples or young people) with issues and concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, chronic health, phobias, abuse, family problems and more.

I am also a clinical supervisor, ensuring that I provide good quality clinical supervision for not only (trainee) psychotherapists but other professionals who feel that they would benefit from clinical supervision to support their role. Previously I have supervised the mental health navigators for the charity, Mind and currently supervise nearly 70 members of staff who operate the GamCare national helpline.
